First of all, a line can be straight or curved. Everything that is approached with the necessary devotion and love, every work that is worked on is an art. This can be anything. I am not just talking about writing and painting. Someone who has done and finished a work is actually an artist of that work. If you approach your work with care and the necessary effort, it already turns into an art that is a manifestation of beauty. For example, let's go over writing; you can use writing to take notes of some information, to put it in writing, or to reflect your own thoughts and feelings. This act of writing may or may not turn into art. For example, like a carpet; we can take the materials in our hands and weave a carpet so that our feet do not get cold, or we can turn carpet weaving into an art. What I mean is; we can reflect something, be it writing or carpet, as it is, straight, add value to it and turn it into art. So much so that when someone sees it, they say, "I should put this on the floor or this should be on my wall."
As you said, calligraphy consists of lines, but these lines are not straight. However, it has an order and geometry within itself. For example, there are no straight lines in the Thuluth and Divan styles.
Absolutely! There is always change in life due to various reasons and situations. For example, in the Kufic style, there are only straight lines and circles, but in most styles of calligraphy it is difficult to find a straight line. For example, the alif looks like a straight line but it is not; it has some curves and bends.
Speaking of Elif, what does Elif represent, teacher?
There is much to be said about this subject... Since we said that Elif has a WhatsApp Number List head and a body, we can compare it to a human. It starts thick and flows towards thinness. Elif is actually a letter that represents balance; it is neither completely symmetrical nor completely straight, but it tries to stand upright. Just like a person who tries to stand upright and pursues truth. Although, a person never always goes to the right side, does it? A person is "imperfect", always lacking somewhere, a side. And so are their deeds... Only Allah is free from deficiency. Our deeds can be bad, good, or average, this is variable; but this is in the nature of man. I am sure that the various experiences of man have found manifestation in this art and continue to exist. Why is the shape of Elif like that? Because what we see in Elif actually represents man.
So, what is the most important aspect of calligraphy? Can we talk about such a principle?
The most important aspect of calligraphy is balance. The artist strives to establish balance in both the letter and the writing. The most valuable thing I have realized so far is how important it is to establish balance in both the composition and the details within it. So, what does this mean? It is the balance of emptiness and fullness in the composition.
Of course, nothing a person does is perfect, but the important thing is to continue working and making things better. This is actually a person’s way to self-realization and development. Imagine if this path did not exist; if every person believed that “here is what I do, here is what I strive for and this is perfect” regarding the work they were engaged in, then there would be no development. Then a person would continue on the same path. But there is always something better.

What is the line that separates calligraphy from and unites it with other classical Islamic arts? And what kind of philosophy lies behind it?
For example, the art of illumination has similarities with the art of calligraphy. The balance we mentioned in the art of calligraphy is also seen in the colors in the art of illumination. However, in addition to the lines that establish this balance, there are also intertwined lines. As in calligraphy, symmetry and repetition are important in the art of decoration. Many repeated symbols in the art of decoration actually represent dhikr and dhikr of Allah. For example, the dhikr or salawat that we repeat daily; such as the dhikr of “elhamdulillah”, “subhanallah” and “Allahu akbar” after prayer. The thing that represents dhikr in decoration is usually a flower.
